LM GTE - 14/10/2019 - Jeff CARTER
The no77 Dempsey Proton Racing Porsche is currently holding the second placed position on 75 points but will face a strong challenge from the no83 Kessel Racing Ferrari (68 points) and the no66 JMW Motorsport 488 GTE (64 points).
Matteo Cairoli has had a good season with his Dempsey Proton Racing teammates Christian Ried and Riccardo Pera, taking victory in Monza back in May and two further podiums in Le Castellet and Spa-Francorchamps, as well as securing three pole positions from the five races.
The young Italian is looking forward to the challenge at the 4 Hours of Portimão and the possibility to securing the coveted automatic invitation to the world’s greatest endurance race.
Matteo Cairoli: “I think it is going to be a good weekend for us in Portimão, even though the championship is already over. The goal for the team is to finish the season right behind the leaders. To finish P2 is the maximum we can do but it is also the minimum for us. We will try to win the race and score some good points and take the automatic invitation to Le Mans.”
The 4 Hours of Portimão is Round 6 of the 2019 European Le Mans Series and will take place on Sunday 27 October in Portugal.
