ELMS Teams Gather Ahead of 24 Hours of Le Mans Challenge

ELMS - 11/06/2019

With 16 cars entered in the LMP2 and LMGTE Am categories for the 2019 24 Hours of Le Mans, the European Le Mans Series is well represented for the world’s greatest endurance race. Eleven of the seventeen LMP2 cars are from the ELMS, that is 65% of the class grid, and five of the seventeen LMGTE Am class are from the ELMS, that is nearly 30%.

While the 24 Hours of Le Mans officially not a round of the ELMS, this is the race that all teams and drivers want to win.  The three 2018 ELMS class champions, G-Drive Racing, RLR MSport and Proton Competition, plus the LMGTE vice champions JMW Motorsport, all received automatic invitations from the ACO for the 2019 24 Hours of Le Mans, with the rest receiving their invitations on merit.

Fifteen of the sixteen cars gathered at the famous Dunlop bridge at Le Mans for a family group shot ahead of the first free practice session tomorrow.
