Paul Loup Chatin – n°28 Idec Sport Oreca O7: “The team did an incredible job, the car is just amazing, so cool and so fun to drive. I’m really happy because since the beginning of the year we are always fighting for pole positions, but we missed it two times for a tenth or a thousandth. I think the team deserves it. I’m quite confident for the race because Memo (Rojas) and Paul (Lafargue) did a great job yesterday. We are really a good team, we work always for the best so it’s really great to get the pole position. We won one more point for the classification so it’s looking good for the championship battle.”
Andrea Piccini – n°60 Kessel Racing F488 EVO: “We knew it was going to be tight because we decided to use two set of tyres. So we did one lap with each set. The car is doing great since the beginning of the weekend, we were expecting to be able to fight for the pole position. We are really happy about the results. Personally for me it’s nice to be on pole especially here because I had my first pole position here 22 years ago! I thank all the team because we have a really good car. Let’s hope we can do a good race.
Compared to 2009, the track is quite similar, it’s just a bit safer with more runoff areas and a better tarmac so there is more grip. But I think I prefer the old track, with the two last fast corners as it used to be when I start racing.”
Mikkel Jensen – n°11 Eurointernational Ligier JS P3: “It’s been really hard this year. Because the Norma are really quick, but we believe in Ligier, and they believe in us and this is what you need. We proved that we could do well even with an older car and I’m really happy. The race is difficult to predict because yesterday it was really hot even in the evening so it’s hard to say when it will cool down. I think at 10pm tonight it will still be hot and of course it changes the balance of the car but I’m sure that we can do a good job.”
